News and Events
Esteemed nautical photographer Alison Langley, perhaps best known for her stirring images of classic yachts racing in regattas all over the world, has found a personal project, closer to home and close to her heart: boat building and restoration.
Maine has a proud history of ship and boatbuilding that goes back 400 years, and the state continues to be a world leader with estimates of as many as 600 boatyards operating today.
As a nautical photographer, the love of classic wooden boats led Alison to settle in Camden, Maine, the heart of wooden boat country. From here she sets out weekly to capture the work of Maine designers and craftsmen who now meld centuries-old traditional skills with high tech innovations, creating yachts of outstanding beauty.
Visit Alison’s Nautical Images Gallery in Camden Maine, to view her images of “Boat Building and Restoration: Maine’s Artisans and Craftsmen” which captures the romance and beauty of this age-old tradition of Maine.
Sage Market to Open at the Mill!!!
(Camden, Maine, February 15, 2008)— Maine Investment Properties (MIP) announced today that they have signed a lease with Sage Market in Rockland to open a store at the Knox Mill Center in Camden. The Sage Market is owned by Josh Hixson and Tara Barker and currently has a store located at 410 Main Street in Rockland.
“We are extremely excited to have Josh and the Sage Market coming to the Knox Mill,” said Brett Cohen, Chief Financial Officer of MIP. “Sage Market has an outstanding reputation and is a perfect fit for both the Knox Mill and Camden. I know my family will be doing all of our shopping there!”
“Opening the second Sage Market in Camden is an exciting next step for us,” said Josh Hixson. “By literally getting in on the ground floor of the Knox Mill development, we’ll be able to reach a wider clientele while offering our current customers something new. The new Sage Market wine bar will allow us to introduce our customers to the Market’s unique ingredients in the form of Mediterranean-style appetizers and bistro fare, all paired with our numerous wines by the glass.”
Sage Market is known for its exceptional selection of artisanal deli meats and cheeses, hand-crafted chocolates, authentic espresso bar, and specialty food items from around the globe. Additionally, Sage Market in Rockland has launched a series of highly successful cooking classes, which will be continued at the new location. The Camden market will also feature fresh meats and fish, produce, and a wine bar.
The Sage Market in Camden will be located on the ground floor at Knox Mill East, located at 34 Washington Street. The Residences at Knox Mill, the luxury condominiums above the market, will have interior access to the market. Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty has recently taken over the marketing and sales for the Residences at Knox Mill, and owner Chris Lynch sees the market as a key selling point.
“Having the Sage Market downstairs from the Residences at Knox Mill creates even more momentum in an already energized development.” Lynch commented. “We’re anticipating very positive feedback from prospective buyers who will see the market as a valuable amenity.”
“You’ll be able to track the progress of the Market on our website, www.theknoxmill.com, as well as link to the Sage website to browse their store.” Cohen noted.
The Sage Market at the Knox Mill is scheduled to open April 1, 2008.
